Almost 20 years ago (boy, they're getting old!) two friends were college roommates studying computer science at a Pennsylvania University. During their free time in college (the little that there was), the two students started a consulting firm called Sleepless Night Software which supplied custom software to small businesses in the area. The name came from the fact that the majority of the work was done during the only free hours they had, namely the wee hours of the morning when, by all rights, they should have been sleeping. Luckily, they were young enough at the time to be able to do this to earn tuition money while still maintaining their grades. And that tacky logo on the left? That's the original Sleepless Night Software logo. That was pretty much state of the art in the late 80s!
After graduating, each went their own way to successful software development careers. One went on to develop software used in the medical industry and the other got involved in creating what would become one of the most popular mapping websites in the world. Then, with almost 40 years of development experience combined, the guys went back to their roots, reviving Sleepless Night Software for the new millennium.
